South African Valve and Tube Industry (Pty) Ltd, trading as SAVATI, was founded in 1968, and is an agent for Pentair Südmo. We service the food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and cosmetics industry.
Savati started out selling and servicing dairy equipment. In 1974, we became agents for Südmo and their stainless steel special valves and fittings. The company’s main business was the supply and installation of valves and fittings to the dairies, breweries, and wineries. With the phenomenal growth of South African Breweries in the 1980s, a regular exchange of process specialists and engineers supplemented the resources and expertise of the local company. At the time, many Südmo special leakage valves were installed into South African Breweries, most of which are being serviced and are still working today.
In 1988, we started manufacturing Südmo butterfly valves locally. Since then, over 75 000 were produced for the local market.
To date, the company still represents Pentair Südmo Components GmbH, Germany. Most of the special leakage valves and actuators have since been re-engineered and produced with the latest machinery to meet global standards.
Savati is a local company with a national footprint, servicing the food and beverage industry throughout South Africa.
